First I would like to thank everyone for thier kind opinions and advice. Im a newbie in this forum and would always need some good advice down the road. I just recently purchased my first 73 CS (Jabberjaw) w/ an M90 8) last weekend. Today I brought him in to be restored . I plan to finish him by this coming summer and enjoy it. :D My plans are to fix all the body damages and to strip it to metal. Repaint it back to Polaris. I am also a fan of the CSL front spoiler. Redo the entire interior to BMW red (wine) leather , new black carpet and black headliner. I will keep you guys updated with its progress.

The leather reminds me of the early 80s and acid washed jeans

Does anyone knows if this sunshade is a factory option? One of the remaining clip does have a BMW marking :?:

entire interior was taken to the aupholstery shop to be recovered with new BMW red (wine) leather. Also I found a nice set of A/D/S speakers 8)

The bottom of the car looks great, especially to an easterner. However, I will be very interested to see how the rust on the roof is repaired.

The rear windshield sunshade was not an E9 option. Perhaps it came from an E24 6 series? My 86 635CSi has one.

I am just finishing up my 73'. Do you plan on replacing the seals, wood and redoing the trim? In my project one thing just lead into 3 other improvements. The "while you are there" issues.

Here are some pics http://picasaweb.google.com/steve.blingham/SteveS1973E930CsRestore#

Good luck and keep us posted.

Wow very nice Steve. How I wish one day my coupe would look as fine. Yes I do plan to change all seals :) May I know where you got your CSL front spoiler? Thanks in advance

Refurbing tool box (kits)

Suggest having a conversation with CoupeKing--he does them very well--at a price of course.

Paint stripping begins =)

Must have scraped 200 pounds off today. Previous owner must be a stock holder of BONDO :? Good news is no rust found

If you are talking about a 745 turbo, finding space for everything apparently is a big problem. Pulls like a train though....

Turbos, all turbos, even the best and newest (which an M30 Turbo surely isnt, wether its the 745 variety or aftermarket) lack finesse. All they have is power (too late).
The E9 is all about finesse in every way.
If you feel you need or want more than stock from your engine in an E9, finesse is the way to go. Thus blueprinting, porting, maybe Tripple Webers (but only if done really really well), slightly more displacement (stay below 3.3 or you´ll loose finesse...), that´s the way to go. All the stuff the factory would have done if cost were no object. The Alpina way....

Just my 0.02 of course
