I've heard of people swapping different cylinder heads onto 3.5L blocks (not sure if it's the euro 3.5L or m30b35) to increase the air flow (more HP) and also cure overheating issues. Can someone explain this to me?
Also, what diameter piping headers is best for a basically stock 3.5L w/ a sport cam? 1 3/8"?

wondering a couple things about the m90
according to previous threads regarding pre 82 m30 heads have a higher chance of cracking due, does this include the pre 82 m90 heads or were they fixed ?
,head gasket part number in the usa? will a s38b35 head gasket work ?
can motronic 1.3 out of a b35 run an m90 even though compression is a bit higher? i do know about the hardware involved in converting just wondering if that stock tube would work well with the higher comp
what wheel horsepower numbers could one expect from a m90 port matched with short tube ie headers, lightweight flywheel...

How many members have had their motor dynoed? Actual numbers only please, chart if you have it. Curious as to the HP and RPM limits from across the spectrum, 2.8, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5, 3.8 and what type of injection whether carbureted (side or downdraft, what size jets etc.), Motronic, L-jet, K-jet, etc.
Anyone run a lower compression w/ turbo? When is too much, too much, how long did motor last at higher limits? Any and all feedback welcome. Happy 4th and thanks for participating!

HBChris: We thought the same thing re. the red paint when we first saw it, but we decided to leave it as is, not least of which reason being that the ITB’s will . The block is ‘79 / head ‘86 / w/ larger ports and the water jacket.
As for Motronic, the reason it’s set up that way currently is because that was the only option available when we got the cam. However, Don pointed out that with the help of a special nut he has, that it can be converted to a distributor. Long story short we can have it either way. Once it’s back from upholstery we’ll jump back in to the engine bay...
