Proof I don't pay much attention to my coupe... Bristol?

I have quite enough "project" with my coupe, but I still envy your project backlog. I am a glutton (or at least I dream of being so).

I've realized that the current project stash I have will last me for the rest of my useful life so I no longer look for projects anymore. Unless it's a '69 E3 that gave me puppy dog eyes while I was perusing Copart. Now that I've moved most of my projects down to the man cave I'm reminded of them much more often.

Just be careful with the backlog; I've had both covid shots, and its not because I'm rich...it'll sneak up on you. Its starts with something encouraging from your wife like, "I hope your labelling all those parts with what they are, so the kids don't have to figure it out.."

Fortunately my son is very well versed in all my projects and parts. His current project is a '69 2002 with an M20 transplant, turbo flares and airdam, coilovers and Alpina wheels. He's just getting started so he's a good two to three years away from completion.

My first car in 73 was a 69 2002. Manila Yellow.

Wow, his is also Manila. You can see the original color around the headlight bucket.

I sent an email to BMW Archive (I hadn't done it for this car) and it shows Polaris Metallic 060 as the original color, so you were correct to question the sticker.

Thank you for your email.

The BMW 2800 CS VIN 2201984 was manufactured on July 01st, 1969 and delivered on July 03rd, 1969 to the Netherlands. The original colour was Polaris metallic, paint code 060.

We hope this information is helpful for you.

Yours sincerely,

Congrats, Dan! That is the best possible outcome to have the car in its original color. Lots easier to change a paint sticker than to paint the car. ;)

I think Polaris is the quintessential German car color. Probably my favorite on any Porsche or BMW.

Great looking 02. My trunk used to get really hot, too. Huh?.....Part of me says "blastphamy" don't bugger up a roundie (that looks great as is!), but part of me says (to quote Springsteen/Thunder Road..) "roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair..." I'm sure it'll be special however he takes it. If we had more cars in the east that looked like that, I'd be single.

Good guesses. Back in the day a friend and his cohorts designed controllers for electric cars as a side venture and they used that 2002 as a test vehicle. They had batteries in the front and also in the trunk. When they were done with the car I grabbed it. We have another trunk lid for it.

The Bristol there with the blue tint is a lot like Chamonix as far as the old classic feel. Looks good with blue interior.
