i will appreciate your opinions, i am renewing some parts of front bumpers, so now they are dissasembled, an i have taken the opportunity to take some pics:

With front bumper! Have always disliked the front bumper delete look, even on CSls. It just has that "unfinished" appearance and will absolutely offer no protection on even the slightest parking mishaps. A set of nice chromed bumper really accentuates the aggressive front end of the CS coupe.
On your particular car with such colours and the wheels i think the bumper on looks best.

I vote with Bert: The bumper is a clean design, and adds a bit of contrast (especially on dark car like deQuincey's) to the front end. If the e9 didn't have that blacked-out grille, it might be OK sans bumper. But, on a dark car with a dark grille, you need the splash of chrome that the bumper provides.
If your car had that ugly "5 mph" bumper that we got here in the States in 1974, I would definitely vote to lose it.
Keep the bumper or go all the way and put the air dam etc etc on, otherwise it looks like a nice coupe without a bumper.
yes, summarising, i think all of you are right, it seems a little strange
i don´t like the airdamm
so i will replace the front bumper as soon as i repair it

IMHO based on the look of your car -it deserves the front bump. Specially with no front air dam and the stock wheels your running.
On the other hand if your going to install an air dam and more agressive wheels - then its a different story.

I like the look of the combo...as well the spoiler keeps the nose down at speed and keeps the car planted.
It will be interesting to see if someone takes on the bumper / spoiler combo using the new CSL style from Mario L.

final stage
hi all
after many tiny, and not so small jobs, here is the final aspect of the front bumpers with a pretty nice equilibrium and alignment if compared the position related to the grilles and fenders
the lights had been cleaned (inside) too, and the grilles with an specific product for exterior plastics (from bmw)
i only dislike the small bumpy corner of the rubber in the front bumpers, anyone can help how to solve this ?, i assume that it will need a "cut", but where and how ??

The ONLY time I would consder deleting the front bumper would be if he car is Big-bumpered model. And only until i found the lovely, delicate chrome replacements.

Ok, I'll go against the grain; I vote for the delete....with a caveat. You need to lower it and get bigger wheels to make it look purposely aggressive; otherwise, I have to agree with others, it looks incomplete with an otherwise stock appearance. I have to admit though, I am somewhat biased; I have deleted the front and rear bumpers (U.S. federalized version) on my coupe, but it has been lowered and has 16" Alpinas.

I say adjust the hood forward a wee bit and drop the front edge down just a smidge. That would make it look correct to me. I’m sorry ---- it’s the curse of having the body man’s eye. ~ John Buchtenkirch
