Radiator dilemma

Another option: Have a local shop install a new two row high efficiency core on your old tanks. Have him keep the new core as far forward as possible on the side tanks (to allow plenty of room for the fan).
 
Have any one consider using a smaller water pump pulley from the e28 535i?
I am running that smaller pulley with original radiator and the result is excellent so far. been to long trip (LA-SF on 5) couple times, wanted to drive thru Death Valley during hot summer to test but have not chance.
