Rare: Rear armrests (for Automatic rollers)

And follow up, what about the center armrest portion? Is that the same between the two?
yes - center armrest is the same. side armrests are different to accommodate belt rollup. For rear seats you could use automatic belts as well - commonly these sit on the parcel shelf. I just did lap belts for the back - we had two friends riding with us yesterday and they said - "just like in an airplane" :-)

Very nice photos showing the difference. Did you make those armrests yourself? I didn’t remember mine being of the same plywood material.

Turns out potential lead on the rears doesn’t want to sell just the armrests. Wondering if I can modify or remake the later style using your pictures. The base rectangle looks yo be the same, the main difference is the angle of takeoff of the upper portion, looks angled forward by about 10 degrees to create that room at the top edge and then a longer horizontal top piece.
Can see clearly when looking at the tan interior (later) compared to my red interior (earlier) that the tan armrest sits protruding more forward on that rising portion whereas my red one is tucked behind the edge of the rear seat.

I guess it could be done if you have a template and measures. The later style goes higher up as is needs to create spake for the belt rollup. Christoph is remodeling them - see the pictures in his post earlier:
