Ready for the Wundercar Social this Saturday in WA State!!!

Finally got my car in tip top mechanical condition and as good as I could appearance-wise given the original 1972 paint.

I've owned the car for just over a year now and have been busting ass on getting this car to where I am happy with it...for now. Still a lot I want to do but she is sorted at the moment. I few highlight items that have been done over last 12 mo:

*Front and rear suspension refresh
*Steering overhaul
*Complete carb teardown and rebuild
*Diff service including bearings and diff mount
* Rear wheel bearings
*Rear brake caliper rebuild with frah pads and rotors
*New rear brake hard lines from distribution point to caliper
*Transmission seals
*Pilot bearing and rear main seal
*New clutch, TO bearing
*Flywheel resurfacing
*Clutch slave Rebuild
*Plugs, plug wires, distributor cap
*All 3 belts
*Engine mounts
*Trans mount
*Shift tower and linkage refresh
*Center support bearing
*Park brake shoes
*Half shaft with CV boot rebuild
*Driver's seat upholstery
*Rear headrest upholstery and
*Trunk lind reskinned in matching Marineblau vinyl
*Rims and tires
*Windshield wiper fluid pump
*Voltage regulator

I'm sure there is some stuff I'm forgetting but that's OK.

I've been working furiously to get mine ready as well - I love that you had put this out there since it made a good target. My family is glad I'm nearing the end, or so they believe - in addition to regular full-time job I feel that there are many weeks I"m spending 15-20 hours out in the garage... Shake-out ride today revealed some issues to sort before Saturday. I like your list, and since I've been meaning to make my own I'm going to take inspiration from you. My list of "things I for better or worse did to this vehicle", many copied from your list


* Front wheel bearings
* Front and rear brake caliper rebuild with fresh pads (sendout) and rotors
* Full new front/rear brake hard lines from engine bay all the way to caliper
* Installed 5-speed Getrag 265/6 and new transmission seals
* New pilot bearing and rear main seal
* New clutch, throwout bearing
* Flywheel resurfacing
* New brake master, slave and clutch cylinder
* Brake booster rebuilt (sendout)
* New spark plugs and wires
* All 3 belts with new Harmonic balancer wheel
* New radiator
* New water pump and thermostat (80C) with thermostat housing and cover (newer style)
* New engine mounts
* New trans mount
* New shift tower and linkage with short-shift kit
* New driveshaft and guibo
* New park brake shoes and Paul Cain handbrake upgrade
* New trunk interior skin for side and rear panel, new maroon carpet
* One new set of rims (14") and new 14" and 16" tires (for the Weds Bavaria 16" rims)
* New windshield wiper fluid pump and reservoir
* New Bosch alternor
* New power steering pump
* Gen4 version fan and integrated shroud with viscous clutch
* New Spal secondary pusher fan
* New heater box diverter with in-cabin control
* Moved battery to trunk and replaced with Optimum battery and battery terminal in engine bay
* New starter
* New ignition coil
* Refurbished coolant reservoir to brass
* Entirely new cooling system hoses
* All new fuel system hoses from gas tank to engine
* New fuel pump relay
* New e28 motors in rear windows with relays
* Cleaned/greased front window tracks and new window rubber trim
* Stripped and reflocked fusebox and glovebox area
* New ignition cylinder
* Added distribution block and relay organizer in engine bay in place of battery tray with custom-built cover
* Repainted engine bay
* New SS exhaust system
* New seat chrome trim strips and rubber stops
* New front dash speaker setup
* Removed Pioneer radio in car and replaced with Retrosound unit, amp and subwoofer under rear seat
* Replaced rear parcel shelf speakers
* Added front driving lights in fog light position and wired control switch in place of cigarette lighter
* New headlight grilles
* Front airdam restored and repainted
* New sway bar bushings
* New exhaust mounts
* Dry ice blasted underside
* Added 3-gauge panel to center dash below radio - oil pressure, voltmeter, water temp
* New hazard relay
* All gauges had interior glass cleaned, speedometer and clock rebuilt
* Doors with new vapor barrier and internal sound deadening material
* Manifold pressure sensor tested/rebuilt (sendout)

Still to be done:
* New shocks/springs - I have them and they are going in next week by a local shop. One spring attempt was enough for me
* Fix a slight exhaust leak
* Speedometer not displaying speed

Kyle - looks like the two of us deserve a good beer for all the work that we have been doing. First one's on me. And I'll second your @sfdon shoutout for the continued encouragement and FaceTime corrections, but I will also raise a glass to many of those here - @rsporsche and @ScottAndrews especially - who have helped me get to this point

Here is my list. Color coding is related to near term priorities and if I am doing them or if I am shopping them out.
The list seems long, but it is also pretty detailed, and it includes notes to myself for things to buy and things to organize.

Well organized, I may need to adopt a version of it for myself.

Well organized, I may need to adopt a version of it for myself.

I like being able to easily re-organize it (an MS Note feature), and i also like to see where i have been by striking out the competed items, instead of deleting them.
