Rear Boot/Trunk Trim

I got one a while back and the fit and finish is ok. I did install it on my car for now. The seller is also very accommodating. I don't know if it will match the rest of my trunk "elephant skin" trunk trim because I haven't finished it yet. But the ebay piece can be easily re-done with the new elephant skin to match.

They can be tailored depending on toolbox ...so says the listing. I have never seen the one for the E9 but the E3 is smooth vinyl over a support. Not worried about color, had to do all with SEM storm gray already so can color match. Ajay, can you elaborate further on the construction, solid piece, vinyl over wood/plastic/MDF etc?. Thanks.

I haven't looked at it closely in a few months. I will take some pics this weekend. If I remember correctly, it is really thin wood with a layer of thin foam and covered with elephant skin. I haven't installed my tool box so I cant attest to the complete fitment. The ebay seller did include the green plastic clips to install it to the trunk. My idea was to use it for now, and then when I redo my trunk's elephant skin, simply redo this panel to match. my car didn't come with any of the trunk pieces so this was my initial starting point.

Here is what the product looks like installed. The material under the vinyl looks like thin plastic.

Agreed. Seems like a good and potentially only alternative. Thanks for the images !

Interestingly, my Bavaria came with the original trunk cover and there is no texture/elephant skin to the covering, just smooth grey vinyl. Is that the same for the E9? I ask because the term " elephant skin" was mentioned.

The original is very thin and has almost a plastic feel to it but it does have a ‘slight‘ texture like the heavier material.

Has anyone found a source for the elephant skin used for the floor & behind the lights outside of the US ?
