I am trying to use OEM carpet in my car
I have bought partial sets from several people
It is a bit of a puzzle, I can't go by what was in my car, it was an aftermarket

My question, there seems to be 2 styles of rear floor shapes
A rectangle with a little triangle notch, and tapered shape
Note that in the photo both have areas that are cutout that shouldn't be
Which is correct for a 1972?

My brother has a 2000CS, it has the rectangle

Thanks

I dunno, with the revised site some of my Google Photos don't appear, others do. If I edit the thread they show up there but when I save it back they disappear. I'll post them here:

Hi Mark
The carpets are from a 1973 CSL.

By way of completeness I attach below photos of the front mats.

Cheers.
Hi Marco,
do you have photos of the parts that get glued in?
I think the only part I am not sure of is a little separate part that gets glued around the the seat somehow, I don't mean the angled rectangle that is attached to a longer part that runs along the seat rail
World Upholstery and Lakewell show a different shape, I am guessing about 8 or 10 inches, one version looks like a hemisphere with a notch out of the center
thanks, Mark

Good morning Mark

I am sorry to report that the original parts that were glued in came out in fragments and were disposed of 30+ years ago!

I attach a plan I recently received from the manufacturer KHM showing the general position of the various carpet pieces. The plan is not marvellous but does give an idea of where their pieces fit.
I also attach for those interested a photo of the KHM front mats showing that the cutout for the accelerator pedal is at the top of the mat, as it was on the originals.

My car is RHD and I need to use a mirror image. ;)

I hope this helps.

I know this won't help you but for others I confirm that KHM offer a significant discount to Forum members ordering a carpet set off-season (December, January and February).

Cheers, Mark

I have all the pieces, and understand where they all go, except the ones circled in red
I supose these are 'the same' as the ones described as 'an apple with a bite out'

Hi again Mark

I asked the same question of KHM (my question 4). My question was prompted by the fact that the 2 parts I received were cut at 90 degrees to one another!

Dear Sir,

thank you for your mail.
Please find enclosed drawing of carpet parts for BMW E9 LHD:

3.) This is a sample for reference in case of later re-order
4.) These parts are only for anti-squeak between rear seats and side panels and not visible when installed.

Regarding headliner please forget the sample we sent, we have obtained a much better match to the original.

Perforation will be similar, but surface will be much closer to the original, with a slight linear textile structure.
This is in order already from the manufacturer and will be available around May 2019.

Best regards

Thanks!!, still a bit of a mystery exactly where they go, but apparently not too important, and says these are not the 'seat post' part mentioned in the install thread
So I still wonder what those are, the part you show here is shown on the World Upholstery photo, but they don't show a 'apple with a bite out', thanks again

Still doesn't
