Rear Shocks: Same as 2002 except for bushing??

A while back, @sfdon posted that the 2002 rear shocks would fit a coupe if the bushing was replaced. The '02 uses a 10mm bolt vs. the 14mm one for E9 for the lower bushing support to the arm.

Has anyone actually tried this?

The 2002 Bilsteins have linear pistons. The 3.0cs have digressive pistons as well as different valving.
