Has anyone here recoded door locks so that they fit a different key

I had a trunk lock rekeyed to match the door locks. Any good locksmith can do this. I took one apart myself and would not recommend it as a DIY project.

Rekey Locks

Likewise, I had my ignition lock rekeyed to match the rest of the car. The locksmith had done a few CS's before and commented that the pins were becoming hard to get.

The administrator of the german forum, who is a real perfectionist, recodes the locks as a hobby. You need several locks to get the pins in different lengths.
This is no job for me, I´m no clock and watchmaker.....

Avoid opening the lock cylinders

I played around with a cylinder thinking I would open and clean it.
All bullets and springs pop out and you will never get it back properly. I would strongly recommend you to skip it.
Why do you want keys to match? A coupe is best left open. If somebody wants something in your car, it is better they use the normal opening mechanisms rather than destroy metal, paint, chrome, glass or door locks. Nobody steals an old stereo part these days.
Just my way of reasoning. I never lock my coupes (or park them in public places overnight).
