Red screwdriver madness alert!!

Stay tuned. I am in the process of having them made now, at least the small ones for the time being. Once I can recover my tooling costs, which hurt, I will then do the big ones. Those of you who have bought the blue tool kit cloths from me know the quality of the product I put out. Those of you who don't, check my feedback. It will probably be another 3-6 weeks before I offer them. The cloths are readily available, as i just had another run done.I promise the screw drivers will not be even close to the $300 mark. LOL.. Some feedback on this project please. Trying to hedge my bets before I pull the trigger this week.

I bought a complete set of tools, including the red screw drivers, for about $70 at my local dealer...about 30 years ago. Had I know about this madness I would have bought several sets.

Bert-

Count me in for one small red screw driver.

Thanks-
John

I will blast it on here when ready. The tooling is almost done for small handles. Trying to find someone to do a small run of the blades.

The Red Handled Screwdriver Madness continues... Now $120 each!

So yesterday this vintage tool guy in So Cal that has been selling me Heyco Red Handled Screwdrivers for $10-15 sent me an email saying he saw them listed on ebay for $325... He then raised his price by 1,000% and is currently asking $240 for (2) screwdrivers! Does that sound like crazy money to any of you guys?

He wrote;

"Hi Jeff, I just got an education today regarding the dollar value of those red Heyco E9 screwdrivers. Appears I've been a moron selling to you at such bargain basement prices. Also saw the ebay item for $325 for the little red flipper and the big red Heyco slot, they sure look just like the ones I sold you. The seller was even from Los Angeles. I hope you don't mind if I add a zero on the prices I've been selling them to you for. No hard feelings, but lets share the wealth."

Best,
harvey

He repeatedly asks how much do I sell them for... Based upon his comments like "The seller was even from Los Angeles." and "lets share the wealth" I think he is ABSOLUTELY convinced that I have abandoned the film business in order to "flip" those ultra rare and extremely valuable E9 Screwdrivers while making a huge profit... He probably thinks that I am the one offering them on ebay for $325... I have tried to explain to him that I have (4) E9s and that there are 6 different Red Heycos and that I do not sell Screwdrivers, but he refuses to believe me...

Any of you guys ever seen me offer E9 tools or any E9 parts for sale?

Forget IPOs or the stock market any of you want to invest in vintage Screwdrivers?...

$240 is crazy, so is the eBay ad for $325, they have been for sale for months! I gave a large one away today to a fellow couper for free, it's more important to me to help a friend and build goodwill and friendship. Others look at it purely as a business deal which is a shame.

tool box

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is he not selling the entire kit, tools included? If so, $325 seems reasonable

Wmnewlife... There is a guy asking $325 for just (2) Screwdrivers

The original post started because on ebay there is a guy asking $325 for just (2) Screwdrivers... A complete E9 toolkit with clamshell box is a different story and they usually sell for around $150-$275...
