Those aren't the original plates for that car, they might be YOM plates though. Whose pics did he borrow at the end?

Definitely not the plates issued in 1970. 1) Few DMV offices were still issuing black plates in 1970 and 2) supposedly some rural offices still had some black plates left in stock after Jan 1, 1970 but those would have been Xxx-###, not Mxx-###.

Don't think those plates would qualify for YOM on this car. The DMV regs seem to say that 1969 is the latest year they will allow black plates under the YOM program. See: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/wcm/c...3/app1e_ca_license_plate_data.pdf?MOD=AJPERES

I find it very misleading when a seller includes photos of someone else's 100 point car in their ad for a 45 point car.

Oh, that car.

Jay, you are correct on YOM for black plates except if delivered in late 1969 black was still available, it would have been a Z plate. All US 2800 coupes were 1970 models built beginning in Sep 1969. And the DMV is now adding blue plates thru 1980 to the YOM program.

I finally figured out what 'running project' was shorthand for. It's short for 'You better be running at top speed in the opposite direction of this project' I'm sure that will be correct much more often than what it's current marketing intent is......

Sorry, I meant to type "Zxx-###" instead of "Xxx-###". Always was better with numbers than letters!

Hey, I found a white plastic hole plug at the hardware store that goes in my inner/top door hinge screw access hole (recall our brief conversation about this on Saturday?). Needed to be glued in - the plug is 7/8", but the hole is closer to 15/16" (it's 24mm). Some SEM ivory would have made it perfect, but perfect is the enemy of done.

Same price, but w/o the Style 5 BBS wheels. Lame.

No title either. You would think the seller would apply for a lost title so it'd be easier to sell???
