Agree with Chris, that's what I did, then spray with a coat of clear coat (stick a needle or stripped twist tie in the hole to protect). If you use 0000 steel wool, remove them first, also have a magnet handy to clean up those little things.
Just an update. If you do want to refurbish your windshield jets, be very carful using any abrasive on them because the nickel comes off leaving copper rising to the surface. @deQuincey was kind enough to offer to have them chromed and I LOVE the look.
Yeah, i can see the chrome looking really nice and in place there.
I hope (and think) that you have set them up for a perfect spray pattern before chroming them, as with the chrome layer on them now, i guess adjusting them (for an ideal spray pattern) is out of the question now?
