anybody have a good suggestion for removing the clip that secures the sunvisor arm to the base? i have tried prying, pulling and every obvious way ... but i am obviously missing something. i want to remove the arms, have them re-chromed and install on new bases.

Just did it Scott... Like an hour ago. Vise grips... Lightly push in and turn. It all of a sudden just pops off.

I opted for a nut to replace the clip when installing.

Erik,

they aren't very visible until the visor is down - i had a 3rd visor in need of repair. the part that is visible is the gnarly part with the curved metal

these are the springs + clips that were a PITA to remove - i see one of the washers stuck in the housing mount. interesting that the 2 springs that were in the mounts were shorter than the one that was in the trashed visor that didn't have a mount.

absolutely Erik, you take out a single screw, turn the L shaped piece parallel to the width of the visor and it should gently pull out. there is a single flange on the arm and that has to lineup for it to come out. just move it around a little bit and then it just pops out.
