repair of electric antenna?

Tried the radio for the first time today. It works fine, but the antenna did not go up automatically. I found a dash switch that should do this and got only a clicking sound, like the motor was running, but not engaging or extending the antenna. I'm guessing the antenna is either stuck solidly in place or the plastic tail isn't engaging. I'm somewhat familiar with these having done rehab on my 240D antenna, although that one just needed some assistance to extend fully.
Can I remove the whole thing and try to manually extract the antenna and clean/lubricate it?
Does it sound like I'll need to replace it, or
is there a place you can send it to get it repaired?
Thanks to all.

Need to determine if the motor does not work or the antenna mast/teeth are broken.
Click is a good sign, if the mast is jammed try to help it by pulling up if possible. If the mast is removable you can extract it by unscrewing the base once the mast is fully extended.

In that case buy a new mast, feed it back in until the motor swallows it, and screw in the base.

If the mast is not removable I would try pulling and lubricating both the mast and the motor/teeth if accessible.
