Hi,
a common test is to measure the resistance of the spark line;
like this:
the numer 1 sign says "see specifications"
but i have not been able to find anything in the blue books (i.e. the rotor must read 5000 Ohms)
so my question is:
if i meassure the line from the spark plug until the distributor cap, what resistance value should i read ?
the line considered that way includes:
- spark plug bakelite element that is nominal 1000 Ohm
- cable (nominal 0 Ohm)
- distributor plug (90 degree shape) .... Nominal ¿?
- distributor cap ....Nominal 0 Ohm ¿?
total = ¿?
p.s. in my car, the values range from 2100 to 2300 Ohm
but a friends car reads from 1300 to 1200 Ohm
can you assist ?
