RHD CSI for sale Australia

seems a pretty full price for a CS even by OZ standards but who knows these days ; only listed a couple of days ago and already had 650"hits" . Can't say I have seen that type of brake booster on a RHD car . I note that the Golf csi that was recently listed for $85k on carsales.com appears to have sold so people are now waking up to the desirability of this marque...as they should.

Nice carbs for a csi...... must be the rare Zenith injectors

Ad states this is an automatic. While it obviously started out as a auto it is now a manual....
Ad states it’s a csi, a Cs, a 3.0 And... it’s not a csi.
And the year?
No AC, no fogs but has 3 relays and that welded on ground tab.
Any comments on the 73 bumpers?

...well spotted Don, those Zenith injectors were unique to OZ cars ;)
According to realoem , the VIN is for 11/73 CS.
What's with the voltage regulator ?...painted blue ?.
Curious that the advertiser would take a photo of $80k car through a chain mesh fence .

That was what I was wondering. All of the photos are taken from miles away.
If the car was Aus delivered why not post some documents to support this?

$88,000.00?
Pics taken through a fence of a car sitting in shadow?
Let’s hope the seller gets some close up and well lit pics for his sake.

This Golf CSi just sold in Aus 2 weeks ago for 85k. It needed work eg had broken sunroof and no headliner, amoung other shortcomings.

E9’s are seldom for sale and seem to be selling fast and getting good prices lately downunder.

Mal, I know it was advertised at $85k but can you confirm it sold at 85k ? ...looked like it needed work which you've confirmed . The Golf colour and csi were both positives. Cheers, Simon

Confusion may lie in the fact that the registry incorrectly lists the 433xxxx cars as CSiA RHD, rather than CSA RHD. mine is 0072, only 20 numbers off.

Hi Simon,

I guess 80-85 (but can’t be 100% sure). It was only on the market for less than 2 weeks, but I think the seller would have held out longer rather than take a low price. Aus delivered, origional manual, CSI in a good colour. Despite needing some work, it had nice pedigree and the seller knew what he had.

Worth also mentioning; a CSI from QLD sold few months back for $113k. And an Inka CS auto sold to Gosford Museam for $85k last June.

Gone are the days of sub $80k E9s here.

I have to agree it seems prices are on the move here. You throw in that CS1 that sold in New Zealand a couple of weeks back for almost 80k as well.
Doesn't seem to be a trend (yet) around significant price variances for manual versus automatic or CS1/CS.
Another factor here may be that it's harder to find a good RHD E9, given lower production numbers and that so many UK delivered ones have rusted out. They also have the higher compression ratio, which could also be a factor.
Word is there are a couple more to come on the Australian market soon, will be interesting to see what they go for.

Wow, looking forward to seeing what else is coming to the market. Hopefully these e9 sellers will put on carsales or gumtree, rather than do off market, back door sales.

Interesting to note also in Aus you cant get a decent 2002 ,e3, e12 or e28 for love or money these days either. Last one I saw was a Taiga 2002 from Canberra which was only for sale for 3 days and before that a silver 2002 Tii, also sold in a flash.

My understanding is the couple of E9's I'm thinking of will come onto the open market.

I think this seems to be a trend with classic BMW's generally in Australia.
You could add trying to find a decent e30 to that list. Quite a few still out there but try and find one that's manual, straight, rust free or not modified to buggery and it gets hard real quick.
Was only a couple of years ago you could a nice e30 coupe pretty cheap but not anymore.

You'd think someone would have told him to post better pictures by now.

I did but he said the car is locked away in his warehouse. Go figure.
