Rim Paint for 4 Spoke Aluminums

I know there have been multiple posts over many years about the correct rim paint. But my superior search skills, right, have yeilded zilch.

So what is the consensus about brand and color of the available rattle cans?

Do you really think that four spoke rims would look good on a Coupe?

Your choice I guess…

I was fortunate to acquire some well loved 1979 Alpina wheels from an amazing E9 owner. With the wheels came some great advice, down to the product to use and much hand holding on how to do it myself.

I have included some picture and will keep you update.

First I decided removing the tires would make the project much easier and in the end they were very old and unsafe to use. Next power washing and gunk removal. File sand, clean wash, prime, Sand wash. Paint first coat, sand wash. SCREW UP and paint with wind. Decide to drink beer... ran out of paint. Sand a bunch more and...

I think Wurth paint has a good match to bmw rims. That’s what I used.

Meant five(5) spoke like restart's photo above.

Loved them on Coupes and Bavarias, but when I saw the original steelies with the chrome ring and cap I was smitten.
 
Steve, Wurth does make a nice silver wheel paint that I have used. I followed with 2k clear coat.
 
Was looking for paint for some Audi Wheels I have, most German/European cars mid late 50's on, and some before had a shade of silver only the real Wurth paints can duplicate it's lacquer paint, drys quickly, and is somewhat more durable than say modern day Acrylic Enamels, that said I found a Duplicolor paint HWP101 as a dead on match color wise little easier to obtain locally as well on line, but need to use little more than you would say a lacquer based Wurth, honestly the Duplicolor is probably not as long a wearing paint as the Wurth is, but it's only $9.00 can at JB Tools, the Wurth cheapest I could fine was $28.00 when I was looking about a year ago, on sale now prices coming down, not something were used to in this economy so hurry.....

While we're nitpicking Steve, are the FPS 5-spokes aluminum? I always understood they were an alloy of some sort.
