The deep-dishes give the car a real restomod/hot rod look. Depends on what you're going for, I guess, and whether the rest of the car matches that image. On their own, they're a bit of a disconnect to me.

looks like 17" wheels ... kinda makes the tires look like rubber bands. definitely more of a modern look - like seeing 22" wheels on a big buick. not my cup of tea either.

Chris, afraid i am not keen either. They look like they might a mess of your wheel arches too? If you are going after more wheel how about the BBs wheels that went on the 8(e31) and 5 (e39) - they are a split rim wheel and suit these well but again the fronts are 8" and rears 9" so might be a bit much as 7 & 8 with et11 and et22 offset if seen as the most to go for.

Nice car - was it always in Ireland or did you import it?

I drove my csl over to Kerry last year and was amazed how much better the roads are!

What is your plan for the car........spoilered up with wind splitters and slick mods.........or just standard with a tidy up? This will determine if they will suit. They def dont work for me on a standard coupe....too busy and not enough tyre on the rim profile wise.

anyway, I hope this is ok to send.

Just too much lip...

Not too keen on these 17" and 18" Roundells, not even on the later E24 coupes and other BMWs. The squared off deep dish lip design, with its elongated spokes (all the way to edge of lip) is not too attractive IMO. The rims and tires are protruding way too much in both the front and rear, especially up front. If driven even semi-aggressively, the front tires will totally demolish the car's front fenders, causing thousands of dollars of damage. The rims also looks to be kind of on the heavy side (25-30lbs+ each?). The general consensus seems to be against the Roundells, but hey, you did ask for opinions... yay or nay.

Ok, I'll be different, I kind of like them. They are not perfectly suited to the coupe like a set of classic Alpinas, but they are an attractive wheel. Almost looks like a racing wheel which means the car would look more pulled together if it had more sportiness to it (lower suspension, spoiler, different color).

Period Alpinas or spoke rims would be much better of course - but I do like these rims - also like the vinyl roof, agree would be better to funk the car up if you keep these wheels - some chrome arches and go faster stripes to start!

Many thanks to everyone who responded!
Personally i like them, probably because of my age (27), but everyone has his own view.
I have 3 other wheel sets. Only problem is, they are all size 14" .

Both of my coupes were imported from UK some years ago. I bought them in Ireland.

That's great, show us more pics. Have you had to do much to them? Where about in Waterford are you?

14" is the right meassure !
i am afraid that you are too young ! keep your roundels and send me your 14" rims...

Waterford city.

These are the options. + 3rd set 20 spoke 14"x6.5" Alpina style alloys.

I like the wolfrace wheels (i think that's what they are).

I remember painting my car's calipers red at 18. They are still red now at 31........
