Rust on sunroof roof

Thomas, I am interested in your parts you are willing to part with. How can I send you a pm?

Not sure if anyone addressed your ignition key issue but Santa Monica Lock and Key will make you another. You can call for details but probably just send the blank you have and a photo of your current key to include the code on it.

Opps, just saw the Dick responded in another thread.

Columbus. I will start the work in November when the fabricator is free. Much prep work under way. Dave

I would like to have some information about the liner fabric offered by World upholstery. Does it have the same structure/material as the original one. Or is it just a diamond shaped liner.
Thanks in advance
Thomas

Back here you'll find roofs from time to time. Shipping over the big pond would be a challenge!

Dave V, where are you in NC? who did your sunroof to hardtop restoration
I'm in Morganton, about three hours west of you.
The swap was done by a body shop that Kormann used about twenty years ago, that also did the paint. I don't know who it was, only that they don't do work for Kormann anymore. As TomHorn mentioned, they occasionally come up for sale from a badly rusted/wrecked example. I had a parts car with a good top, that I sold locally to a guy that's going to build a rat-rod wide body car...You might see if Al Taylor found an extra, as he was previously looking for one, and he is in NC.

Thomas, I don’t know yet. I am far from home where they are sending the sample. As I may not be there for weeks, I can’t give you an answer. The company is World Upholstery out of California. As this is a discovery fix, when I get the sample, I’ll go from there. The web alluded that it is the OEM headliner. I’ll let you know. Thanks, Dave.

Will do. Thanks Dave.

World Upholstery & Trim offers pre-sewn replacement headliners for most models of "New Class" and E9 coupes. The headliners for the "New Class" coupes are different from the E9 coupes and also vary based on whether they have a sunroof or not. Motorized sunroofs became an option among E9 coupes characterized by a zipper in the rear part of the headliner that gives access to the sunroof motor. Aftermarket motorized sunroofs were common for E9 coupes and is distinct from the factory sunroof by the fact that the motor is at the front. We can only provide headliner material for coupes with aftermarket sunroofs. The original headliner material used in this coupe is no longer produced by anyone. We instead use a similar vinyl embossed in the same manner as the original.
These replacement headliners are already cut and sewn to fit and ready for installation but headliner replacement as a whole is an arduous task so we still recommend the use of professional installers.

Have you guys checked out GAHH? They came up with something very close for my 635. Located in Burbank or N Hollywood, not sure, but that's an old guys memory

You’re very kind. Yes, Pfaff is fairly common in Germany. At 15 in ‘67, i spent 5 week’s flying gliders in the Rhône valley. Wasserkuppe. I did that three years in a row. Amazing experience which prepped me for my career as an airline pilot.
Are you related to Jean-Marie Pfaff?
