S54-Powered 1974 BMW 3.0CS 5-Speed (NMNA)

Here's the build thread on the car.

i first saw the car when Brendan was working on it at RWL and then at the painter (when M5bb's coupe was at the same shop). Brendan did some amazing work on this car ... the huge amount of work it takes to get a s54 into a coupe is not for the faint of heart. it makes putting a s38 into a coupe like a walk in the park.

I have seen this car a couple times. It was in the same body shop as mine. Mechanically it is pretty good. Cosmetically not so much. Notice the dark interior photos. We'll that hides the details pretty good. It was a joint build by two guys but they split up before it was actually road worthy. It checks all the boxes from 20ft. Color, stance, wheels, E46 M3 motor, so it gets lots of attention.

We'll see if it breaks $100k.

Two people can look at the same vehicle and have two different conclusions. Beautiful car. Stunningly. Beautiful.

Workmanship is excellent. Should do reaaaaaaaly well at BAT (or anywhere else).
Hoping for the best outcome for Brendan.

while the car is not for fans of original cars, technically its a very special adaptation. i completely agree with Gary ... not a huge fan of the interior close up. i got my bucket of popcorn ready. i am most curious if the seller pays Brendan anything. yes, Brendan knows its on BaT.

I picked up a bunch of the original parts from this car after Maxxfish sold the shell. So, if someone wants to take it back to stock, I can help.

I wish someone would build a CSL Group B (or whatever) replica with a functional, good looking stock interior.

No one is going to invest $150k into a car only to take it to the track (unless they're uber rich with 100 other cars to play with).

I'm thinking it'll sell for $175k

I have a complete bipolar reaction to the driving video.

One the one hand, the filming is absolutely excellent. Definitely the work of a pro level videographer. Very impressive.

On the other hand, a highly performance-oriented modified coupe without bumpers driving exclusively in a dense city center? And that last line... "You have reached your destination!" ... and it shows a nightclub looking building? That's the final destination for an S54, wide flared high performance GT ???

Yea, I didn't get the video. It's not going to sell the car. Needs a proper driving video showing some dynamics

It's a real shame because all throughout it, I kept thinking "Cool, they're showing how the car allows them to escape the dreadfulness of the city at night and it will soon emerge onto some spectacular country roads at sunrise where it can really open up..." But instead we get some yuppie dive bar.
