Sanden compressor bracket question

My 3.0CS has a non factory York a/c compressor with a custom made bracket rather than an OEM one. The compressor is leaking so I think it’s time to switch to a Sanden. The Sanden brackets that I’ve seen available appear to be adapters that retain the existing OEM York bracket. Except I need to start again from scratch as my York bracket is welded fixed with no pivot as you would normally expect for adjusting belt tension.

What’s the best strategy to mount a Sanden if I’m not re-using the existing custom York brackets?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies, will follow up. PS: I found this great post, but unfortunately all the pictures are no longer available.

One more question if I may: why are folks here apparently preferring old Sanden compressors like the SD508 and SD709 that are designed for R-12 refrigerant over newer models like the SD7H14 or the SDH14 that are designed for modern R134a refrigerant?

I know for a fact that SD709 is for R134a (I have used on 2 cars) and believe that SD508 is also.

Because it's very hot here and R-12 is readily available.

You might take a look at C(S)eltec compressors
