Sardine can window motor ground?

I am getting no ground to one window motor. I am using the diagram in https://www.shiftbmw.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/BMW-E9-3.0-3.3-cs-csi-owners-manual.pdf which is not quite legible...

A few questions:
1) Does the ground make it through the door wire harness or is it grounded locally inside the door?
2) I assume terminal connector 111 is inside the door, but where is plug board 112?
3) How is the wire harness routed to the window switches? Under the carpet or behind the side trim around the hood latch handle?

The motor works in both directions when an external ground is brought to motor in the door.
 
My recollection is:
1) that the ground is through the door harness (picture below from my 1972).
2) Not entirely sure where the plug board 112 is, but suspect that it is in the relay tray that is underneath the driver's side of the dash, tucked up high (upper left of second photo).
3) behind the trim and hood latch handle (see also picture from my interior disassembly. Sorry no close-up of that area) with wires running to the relay tray.

The ground for this window motor is the brown wire going to the chassis

Very useful. That means I can catch the harness without removing the side trim... I was trying to move the harness on the door side and see what moves...
 
I have checked the wiring diagram from the Blue Book:
this shows all 4 window motors
-101 and 110 are front
-107 and 116 are rear

all are wired the same way. This matches my 1971 CS.

The cores SW-black and GN-green run to the front switches whereas ground BR-brown is connected to the chassis by a screw at the A-column.
From '73 onwards there's no ground needed at the drives. Two cores run from the switch directly (via connector 121/122) to the drives.

Thanks Thomas! I will find that screw or perhaps if the brown wire in the harness is broken.

Yes, they are electrically the same wiring. The wiring is different in the sense that rear motor grounds do not go through terminal connectors (106, 115).
