Seen the car in person pretty much as described. I also believe a new member bought his fjord 3.0 from the same seller not to long ago.

Jay,

I have to diagree with the chrome wheels, to me they look a little cheasy. What is of more concern is the strut tower area, floors and rockers. It appears to have led a hard life!

I have to admit that the polished wheels against the black car do look kind of sharp.

OK, let's agree they look like sharp cheese!

Yea, all the issues with the wheels, console, dash, slush-O-matic, ... pale in comparison with the rust.

Nope its not Evan. I believe the seller is an owner of Mitsubishi and Ford dealership. Saw the car while it was being detailed in the same shop I use.

ebay e9

Looks nice from afar, but the right shock towers are downright scarey looking.

On the other hand the tool kit has 2 red handled screwdrivers! That alone makes the car worth it.

Was this the one with the dent just below the deck lid on the passenger side?

No A/C either, not my cup of tea!

Yep. sold with the dent in situ... fairly cheaply too IIRC.

Rough car, I see rusty floors, wasted front strut towers, spare tire well is
gray? Rocker panel on left side, image with jack point looks tender . . and
at 7900.00 it's over priced . . .
(Mario Lansten)

Not to mention the car is from Texas! (PM me for explanation)

You screwdriver guys are insane!

lol!

Hi everybody.
Ive just got that beautiful black 2800 cs.
The seller was in san francisco...found it on craigslist.

I hope I did a wise move on this one.
The car looks enierly restored...maybe a bit of rust a somebody posted.
I dont know....I´m in Mexico..I bought it on long distance.
The car is on the road now on its way to importation to Mexico.
I think it will be a really eyecatcher down here....I hope I dont catch any bullet!!

Any suggestions on this vehicle?
What shall I do to get a repair and service manual?
Who is the reliable provider for parts?

cheesy wheels

Hey guys.
Ive got that (cheesy) good looking 1971 cs in San Francisco.
Please tell me...are the rims not chromed originally? Those I think should be a little bit more pale right? instead of the shining of a chrome wheel....I perfectly understand.

Ive seen some pics on the internet..believe me when I say...There is no BMW CS in Mexico whatsoever...so I have never seen one in person...so I dont know.....

I agree..chromed wheels look cheesy.....
Anyway I`ll see for myself next week when I get the car in the border.

Regards to all
happy new year

Congratulations on your new coupe!

The wheels were originally painted silver. I have heard people say that the wheel color should be the same "Polaris Silver" that is the body color on many e9s. When I restored my e9 recently, I had my wheels powder coated. My local powder coater had a color called "European wheel silver" that looked right to me.

bernardo,
congratulations on the coupe.
i don't know anything about the alpina replicas at your link. but peter (coupeking) sells replicas that 1) have the correct offset and 2) are staggered... for a little bit more $ than the ones on your link. here's the link to peter: http://www.coupeking.com/product_id-477.html
and, of course: not affiliated with peter, just pointing this out to you.
good luck!

Thanks a lot.
Its good to know.
I have not yet found other ones.
Let see when I get the car next week how I feel about them.
I`ve just got the fedex package with title and all the documentation.

Congratulations Bernardo.
The wheels should be painted as in the spare wheel rim I see in the car.

I am sure you will take care of whatever rust and body work that has to be done. If you sell the red screwdrivers into the US you can fund body, paint, and a 5 speed conversion.
