Just wondering. Are Scheel seats more comfortable than the standard e9 seats ? If one was intesterested in converting to Scheels, is it true you can purchase a kit to convert the existing e9 hardware brackets to accommodate the Scheels ?

yes there is a guy in this forum that sells the complete thing, supports, tilting mechanisms, and seats, he lives in germany so postage will be considerable, but he has the right thing

Do you mean Gerrit?

If so, shipping was less than I expected. I recall something around $100-$150 foe a whole seat! Seems quite reasonable.

Wide rear end=stock seats
Narrow rear end + like firm = scheel

John is correct - but it also depends on which model you are thinking of using.
I have a couple of the fixed angle buckets - one of the standard 'CSL' seats and a slightly later one. Both fit me well, good support = not much wiggle room. I have a 31" waist.

The seats currently installed in the coupe are the reclining back 200 series. THese are slightly wider feeling in the seat, but still pretty narrow. I've never actually sat in the 400 and 500 series (these are the ones installed in Paul Cain's 3.8 and Jabberjaw). If you compare photos of the seats you'll see that there are slight differences in the shape, size and position of the bolsters, so don't just go by the model numbers.

Gerrit sells a tilting mechanism that bolts to the E9 floor and uses the Scheel sliding mechanisms.
If you want to use the sliders from your E9, you can adapt the bolt pattern to the Scheels using a plate adaptor from Aardvark (or another that I forget now) or make your own. I don't have a welder so I had Mario at VSR fab a pair. You can see at the bottom of this photo that the standard slider mechanism is in place.
