Posted an hour ago. If I wasn't in the middle of a garage remodel this would be mine right now. This is your cheap source for a five speed swap. Sell a few parts then have pick 'n pull pick it up. The car still drives so you can test the teams.

I would have, even with the garage under construction. However, I need to let the dust settle with BMW priorities. I attempted to buy a 1988 Hennarot E30 M3 this morning. My wife blessed the investment. I was going to immediately flip it to fund the coupe. Apparently I wasn't the only one who had that idea because two bogus red '88 M3's went up for sale on Seattle CL yesterday for $15K. I think people were testing the waters. Anyway the original owner came to the auction lot yesterday and cleared his debt. Good for him, it would have been a crappy way to lose an M3.

I snagged it for $440 cash.

Will use the tranny and L-tronic EFI to put on my 2.8.

Rear end on these E12s work in an E9? Will have to check if it's LSD and a decent ratio.

Anyone know if the front brakes also will work w/an E9? I figure these are vented (unlike my 2800's).

Man that is the second car that I posted that you bought! :) You seem like you've been doing a gray job with research. There are a few e12 crosswalk threads. Also, you can type any part number into realoem to see applicable models.

Let me know if you want to sell the seatbelts, front and rear. PM me when you can. I'm not in a hurry. Thanks!

What is the condition of the rear seats?
How about the trunk lid?

I may be interested.

good purchase

i sent you a PM of a few things i might be interested in. if i remember correctly, a 528i does have vented fronts but has solid rears. whether or not they fit is a different question. my guess is they might. realoem shows the front caliper as the same on an e24 (which makes sense as they share some dna)

i don't remember the 528i having a LSD ... but if it does, then i would think that it might match up as early e24 LSD does.
