It's a shame that this father never got to enjoy his hard work. I assert that no bag & tag project will sell in today's market for over $15K, regardless of the shell condition. I think the number is closer to $10K.

What concerns me the most is that it took me 9 days to find this ad! :D

I think you raise a good point. Now imagine taking an E9 apart, taking copious notes, then putting it back together six months later. That's a difficult task. However, putting one together without the experience of taking one apart would be like assembling a Lego set without instructions. The difference is that when you find out the pieces are missing, you spend $300 on a door seal. :D
 
Wow. That is cool and for the right price for someone who ALREADY has a coupe to go by would be a good project. As is you could start with a $20K project, put in $25K and end up with a $45K car...
