Selling my Alfa Sprint

i'll get there!

Hey Jay,

Just doing a slow rollout.

Will be on Hemmings and Alfabb soon, after i come back from a trip this weekend.

I am a member of alfabb and now I have four Alfas, since I just got a Jr Z. Time to thin the herd.

Wanted to wait until I had the underside shots and shots of my work receipts.

I Don't know much about Alpha's ....

"Alfa" is an acronym - like "BMW" - not the first letter of the Greek alphabet.

Actually, Alfa and BMW used pretty much the same convention to create their respective acronyms:

What they build: "Automobili" in Italian, "Motoren" in German

Where they build it: "Lombarda" in Italian, "Bayerische" in German

What they do: "Fabbrica" in Italian, "Werke" in German

Alfa just added the second "A" for "Anonima", the equivalent of "Incorporated" in the US, or "AG" in German.

The original company was founded as A.L.F.A. in 1910. The "Romeo" part comes from the last name of the guy who bought the company in 1915.

Well, it has to do with the Visconti family crest:

Something about maintenance costs biting you in the a s s?

Actually, the city of Milan adopted this image from the Viscontis, and Alfa incorporated it into its badge. It dates from the crusades.
