Hi guys,

my name is Dan and I recognized that I never introduced myself to the community although posting stupid questions and comments to this valued board since quite a while - sorry for that :
I am living in the BMW Motherland - not only in the broader one, Germany, but in the narrower one, Bavaria. Actually, I was born and raised somewhere in the middle between "the works" (plants) Dingolfing and Regensburg. And I am also living in "Mainhattan" since several years.
I traveled quite some states and cities in the US in the past (still not enough, though) and usually I travel once or twice a year to the United States for business reasons - and I always feel like home but also comfortably different .

I am into BMWs since almost 30 years now and besides two vintage BMW I love to drive and maintain a BMW youngtimer as a daily .

I own my E9 since quite a while but during the last several years "life came in between me and my coupé" and when wrenching on a car, it was my daily that needed urgent treatment...

I will introduce my coupé in the appropriate section where I will hopefully also be able to report on some additional modifications I plan for in the near future.

There are two things about me that may be important and that may seem a bit strange, but I can't help it:
- I never wanted to have a "perfect" car as I know that this would prevent my inner Monk from driving it the way I need to do to have fun.
- I have the opinion that the extensive repertoire of modification / tuning options available and applied already in the 70s along with the motorsport history of the E9 provides a strong rationale and justification to adopt the car to my obsession for performance.

My coupe was already a bit special when I bought it and I made it worse during my time of ownership. Will probably continue to do so

Looking forward to the opportunity to participate in interesting discussions and learn from the International community!

Warm regards,
Dan
