I have a foam shifter gasket (part number # 23411200936) that I think would help improve the air quality inside my passenger cabin.

What is the correct installation of this piece? Is it glued to the floor or can it more or less "float" inside the shifter console between the window switches and under the leather shift boot?

Any tips, words of advice, experiences, warnings, etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks

Is the other side of the foam beveled out around the hole? it just slips over the shift lever hole on the shift tower and gets wedged between the tunnel and tower when the transmission is raised back up into place.

You are on the wrong side of the sheet metal of the tunnel.
Follow Steve’s advice carefully.

Here are some pics I happened to take a while ago with some measurements, I am out of town for a while but can take better measurements next month. Note the beveled cutout. This is for the Getrag 265 shift tower.
