Recently, I acquired a Getrag 265, rear diff, 2-part axle and some other drivetrain parts from @Bejoe16 . @StephenZ did an amazing job packing the items into a 32"x32"x28" pallet shipping box that weighed 275lbs and required LTL-style transportation (Less than Truckload).

I asked @sfdon what shipping service he uses... Don mentioned UShip, so I checked that site. Shipping companies on UShip quoted $1000 to ship this pallet from the Atlanta area to the Los Angeles area.. Oof ! ... I wondered if this was the going rate due to inflation, fuel charges, etc.

By luck, I found freightquote.com. After entering pallet details and requesting LTL service, along with forklift drop-off at my residence, FedEx LTL quoted me $510 for the job. 6-7 days shipping time, and they've already called and scheduled drop-off with me. I added a $50 insurance policy after describing the items on my bill of lading and providing their nominal value. Their tracking data is really good - I get GPS updates on where my item is, based on the truck it's in. (BTW, FedEx LTL is a separate company from FedEx.)

I'll post a follow-up and photos when the pallet arrives next week.
