Historically, I've always tried to source used components from individuals and companies near me... Now, I'm buying a transmission and other drivetrain components from an individual on the East Coast.

Could I get some suggestions on reliable shippers that do LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipping of heavy items on pallets? I'm not really familiar with this type of shipping service.

Thanks in advance.

Transmission just got shipped to me, had it put in black costco bin with some expanding foam and packing. Pirateship (like UShip that Don referenced above) gets you business rates. Shipping was about $100 for a 5-speed.

And Costco special on black bins are only $6.99!!
Stocked up last night. And the Prime Ribeye for only $14.99 !!
Don, you told me about the ribeye, but you didn't mention the black bin sale - I'm there!

And had to come back to add that when I searched Costco’s website for “black bins”, yes they are there although it’s interesting what else they consider “storage container” :)

Where’s it shipping from? I’m in the Atl area, so if it’s near me and you need help getting it packed up and sent, I’m in.
