Shocking development in my trunk...

The white E3 that sold last week on BaT had a gas shock in the trunk to assist with the opening, It wasn't clear to me whether they also had a torsion bar as well. I decided to replace my remaining torsion bar with two gas struts from the boneyard. A little picking and a little pulling got me some 20" struts with end brackets I needed. It works like a trained pig...

 
Where's the button that closes it automatically? And the warning beep? I didn't see an backup camera either? Man, you've been slackin'....
 
Let us not forget the third rear brake light and the bumper mounted fog lamp.

Am I the only Bavaria owner who finds the trunk needs to open further, like a coupe's? I am constantly scratching my head on the blade-like latch. No fun.
 
When the long or short term memory starts failing, take your pick, let's sue BMW for "Design Dangerous to the Health of the E3 Owner."
