some guy on ebay is selling one inch trumpets that do away with having to replace your brake booster, the cost is $39.00 for two, I have ordered a couple.

I think you really want to keep all of your trumpets equal length if possible...

How close are your current trumpets? What filters are you planning on using?

I use a UNI Filter with a 15 degree angled mount and it clears a standard booster on my 2002... You might have similar results with your set up? You have pics?

UNI part #UP6245AST (filter on left in this pic)

Pierce Manifolds in Gilroy, CA may have additional options.

Have seen shorter horns out there. Also neat low profile screen options instead of socks.

Hth.

VGS made a manifold back in the day for the M30 which offsets the first carb to clear the thermostat and raises and tilts the carbs to clear the stock brake booster. I posted an auction for one with carbs a couple weeks ago. Very rare to find. I got lucky acquiring mine. I still use angled filters so I can run a longer trumpet and filter.

I think it is the only way if some one wants to keep their original brake booster?

I cut the bottom of my center air horns at an angle to clear the brake booster originally but eventually replaced it with a tii booster.

Steve you are right, it depends on the intake manifold as well, my side draft kit came from Pierce manifold with not enough room for two inch trumpet

Even with the Tii booster I had to go to the two shorter horns in the middle to clear.
Now that engine and car are apart for rebuild I am going to change to a GM style hydroboost so I won't have this problem anymore.
I will also have better power brakes.

Or you could do an Alpina airbox setup

They have 90 degree elbows up from the carbs to the airbox.

Is that only an option for the 3.0 with disks all around, or would a setup like that work on the 2800cs with drums in the rear?

I can help with that, what size carbs are you using? attached pic showing typical Alpina setup (not my pic) and pic without airbox (my pic)
