Just bought new sill covers from Max and they came primer black. The old ones had a semi soft black textured coating and I'm wondering what people have used for this coating? All the guy at the paint shop had was under coating and I don't want to use that. I was thinking about having them sprayed Rhino lining material but thought this might be too soft as well. I'm not sure if there is a powder coat that has the correct textured look; any ideas is appreciated. Also, what is the correct part number for the plastic rivets that hold the molding on? What's listed in the Real OEM doesn't have the correct quantity so I'm not sure it is the correct part number.

Thanks! about 50 cents cheaper than Pilican Parts too. You didn't have the problems deQuincey had? I guess if I get a thick coating sprayed on I might have the same problem.

I didn't have any problems but I only did a light respray of the existing texture and they snapped right on.

Rockers: prep

Personally,
If they are galvanized, I'd shoot Wurth undercoating over the factory primer and then spray it with a single stage urethane flat black.

Better yet, strip it, Dupont Variprime (or equivalent 2-part, self etching primer), then Wurth undercoating, then single stage urethane top coat.
