Sitting 2800CS-need to move it

Hi guys,

Long time since I posted. Here is an update on my car. I gave the car to SFDON and worked on it for a few months. I did had to get it towed to his shop and it was well worth it. Don knows these cars inside and out and it will be going back to him for the restoration. The car now sits in my garage and I take it out on weekends. She is running great, hopefully in the near future I can restore it but until then she will sit in my garage. Oh, my wife lovely calls her the "bucket".

For those of you that remember the car belong to my father and has been sitting in a garage for 15 years. I haven't cleaned her yet only the interior. Soon I will spend some time with her shining her up. Here are some pics.

I do need center caps for my rims, does anyone know where I can buy some? also my right head light burned out.

Getting towed to Dons shop.

Certainly looks like a Great car. I was expecting to see a rusty worn out E9. You might find the centre caps on Ebay, Ebay.de from Coupeking or Coupeguy. Good luck.

Looks great. Those are BMW turbine wheels so these caps should fit, part number 36131114435. Go to Tompkinson BMW site and paste the part number into the search box and they will have best price.

ggus, I have some center caps that are an odd size in that they don't fit the 14 inch wheels on another coupe that I'm helping a friend with. If there is a fair price paid for these I would be happy to ship them to you or try to do an exchange? Is there a way to tell what sizes will fit which wheels. As far as I can tell the wheels that I have are original BMW wheels. This is a mystery that I have not been too concerned with but as long as someone is looking... Also, will pictures or any markings help determine the correct fitment.

Thanks,

Way to go Gus! Your car is looking great and hats off to Don for getting it sorted... Let's plan to get together soon...

HI Tom, thanks and yes we need to get together again. I finally finished school so I have some free time, funny though my honey-to-do-list got longer :-).

Greetings chaps,
Update on the car, I finally was able to spend some time and clean it up. The 2800 looks great with a fresh coat of wax. While cleaning it I found some problem areas but nothing that can’t be fixed, also, one of my rear brake cylinders is leaking and I already have the parts on order. Other than that she’s in great shape considering she was sitting in a garage for 13 years. The car turns heads!
