Hi all, I wound up with an extra fairly rare e9 Petri hub (93 cm), but would prefer to have the shorter 2002 hub (87 cm). The hub I am offering is a the correct Petri hub for any e9 (except CSL) and comes with the proper horn contact ring and longer black plastic hub cover. It’s all 100% original, the hub cover even has the little Petri symbol on it.

Since the e9 hub is fair bit harder to obtain than a 2002 hub my offer is my complete “longer” e9 hub with cover for trade for a “shorter” 2002 hub + $200 cash. So if you are a stickler for originality and happen to have a 2002 hub on the Petri in your Coupe this is your chance to finally sleep comfortably at night.

That’s a great swap. These hubs are hard to come by on their own.

That is a smoking deal for anyone with a 2002 hub in their E9 :D

This is still available. DeQiuncey’s friend had a correct e9 hub. Open to offers.

Thanks! J

Bump - still open to offers - would consider additional parts for trade instead of $ portion. J

Hello John,

Your answer seems correct and reasonable to me, the only thing I could point out is that when someone in the forum puts something up for sale and it is sold, it is usually indicated in the title of the post or in an additional message precisely to avoid this type of misunderstandings.

I was very surprised that after 5 years you still had the hub, but since it was not indicated that it was sold and was no longer available, it was worth trying.

Good weekend and sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the advice, but this is both a common sense issue a forum issue. A post for a somewhat rare item that 5 years old it should be obvious that it would no longer be available. Additionally there is no way to close or mark an Item sold on this forum. Since it has been 5 years I don’t recall what happened but I believe it was available for awhile, so that is why it was never closed. I just simply forgot about it. If you want to go digging for old for sale posts from half a decade ago, be my guest, but no need to get righteous when you failed to use common sense and were given a straight response right away.

I don’t see a problem with his inquiry-was bumped a couple times with no obvious conclusion. If I were looking for a rare part and saw this I’d take a shot too. Pretty easy to just say it’s sold without the sarcasm and revise the title than to rip on this member who is being polite about it all.

My dear John,

Whatever you want to say, you talk a lot about common sense but then you don't practice it. There is a word in our vocabulary called "SOLD" and today we all use it Mr. Common Sense, without any common sense.

I repeat, in case it was not clear to you in the previous message, 1.- You can edit the title by putting "SOLD" at the beginning or 2.- Write a last message with the word........ "SOLD". And stop complaining about the forum and that there is no possibility of putting "sold" in a click box, do not forget that the classifieds are published as one more post and not as a sale announcement.

That is what for me and many others here in the forum, is common sense and not to get angry because someone writes you a day, a month, a year or 100 years later, interested in a product that you were selling and you NEVER indicated that you had sold it. .

THAT IS COMMON SENSE MY FRIEND.

Why are we arguing here?

FYI @JohnP_02, all members can edit their thread titles, and their posts to include a sold keyword. Let’s do that next time to avoid necroposting and the resulting trauma! BTW - If this response or my new title seems snarky in any way, just know that “I can’t help it”.

Exactly
A close friend usually needs more than 2 years to sell his items, he always answers the MPs.
Moreover using the SOLD Word over the title guarantees you not being molested again
I don't see the problem

Items that are priced fairly and transparently on the forum sell within days. It is the items that have no amount listed due to overly optimistic asking prices that sit for years and years. We’ve all seen those ads that get bumped every six months.

Agree with the sentiment, but I didn’t spot any sarcasm. My new thread title is definitely sarcastic however.

“Thanks for the advice” after laughing at EuroE9’s post seems to me but whatever, you’ve cleared this up and forum life goes on.

I was referring to @JohnP_02 ‘s initial response that the part was unavailable. That point where this thread could have easily ended. Agreed that life goes on.

This post is from 5 years ago, sorry it’s long gone.

Dear fellow forum members,
I apologize if my comments have bothered anyone, my only intention with @JohnP_02 was to help him not receive any more offer messages when he told me that it had been sold years ago.

My intention was never to bother him or show it up. I respect you all very much, since you have helped me a lot with my car and you always have constructive comments. a hug and good weekend
