Actually, I find these guys’ resourcefulness absolutely amazing. We tend to lose track of those “make it work with just whatever you got” skills.

What always kills me on these start-em-up videos is that they never do anything to lube up the cylinders or bottom end of the engine. Minimally, I prime the oiling system by turning over the engine with no spark plugs (with a disabled ignition). Also, I put a bit of marvel mystery oil or comparable product into the cylinders and crank over a few times. It makes me cringe every time I see some kid hook up a battery and dump some gas down a carb and try to fire up a vehicle that has been sitting for 20 years.

After watching this, I have made a note to add a small hatchet to my trunk mounted tool box. Does anyone know if Heyco made a BMW-tool-kit-appropriate, axe?
