Recently I saw a neat black gas can that goes in the spare tire rim under the trunk panel. NO idea where I saw it but would love, love to have one. I thought it was here, but I have searched various topics and can't find it.

Help!

Those Bellino ones are cool but definitely pricey. What about this option?

The jerry-can be comfortably put in the spare wheel. It allows you always to have reserve stock of fuel in the trunk without taking unnecessary place and jolting in the trunk

Made in Russia, for what that's worth. I calculate the volume from the dimensions to be 1.2 litre, or about 1/3 of a gallon. That's how it fits inside the wheel, it's not very large. The company has a number of models in various shapes and seem to be designed for use by owners of ATV.
Better than no reserve at all I suppose.

Made in Russia, plastic, still pricy for plastic, won't fit. I have to pass for any one of these reasons. Especially the Putin Part!!
 
Fair enough, I hadn’t delved into its country of origin. The Bellino ones fit in place of the spare, correct? I guess in today’s world with tire puncture kits you are probably more likely to have an issue with low gas than a flat, depending on where you are and the distance you’re driving.
 
Suggestion: setup a running search on eBay. You'll get an email each time a matching item is put up for auction. I got my Bellino for $150 from a guy in Washington State.. literally brand new.. and meanwhile, similar items were up for 400 euros from various sellers... patience is key.

I have one. It fits inside the spare. I turn the spare upside down in the compartment. Maybe it would fit with the spare mounted normally but I haven't tried that (and it's too cold to go try now). Fun accessory but I'd never carry any gas in it.

For my purposes, it's just a fun option. My gas gauge works so I have never run out. Don't need another potential source of fumes/leaks. Seems kind of dangerous but I guess it's TUV approved and no more dangerous than the tank itself. If I did run dry, I suppose I could use it to tote fuel while walking back from the station.
 
FYI, here are a couple of pics with the can in place. Note the BMW logo. It holds 6 liters.

And it will also install under the spare wheel, with the spare installed in its usual orientation (face up). The trunk floor panel fits as usual.

For me it is pure neat, nothing more. Purchasing a BMW 6 liter original. Needs some work. Sort of like the BMW First Aid kit in the brown vinyl bag. Looks great in the storage bin, but that's about all.
