Guys,

has anyone sourced one of these grommets, or has a best replacement lead for it?

Thanks as always, jusyt starting to put the car back together!

Regards,

Mike

i believe the rubber grommet was part of the speedo cable itself. i will look at a new one that i have tomorrow. not sure that it was ever sold by itself.

That is where my research led me last year, I was not able to find the individual grommet.

so do you have a 4 speed, a 5 speed or an automatic in your car? the reason i ask is that it might be easier to just replace the cable and get the grommet with it. i have a spare 4 speed cable.

yep, looks like i need a new cable,,, I have a RHD running the 5 speed od box, am on walloth at moment working out which one i need, but my pre existing one is circa 1.8 m long (i guess it needs to go opposite side of box on RHD so need to be longer...

If your gearbox is leaking at the speedo cable connection the shaft seal is the culprit 20260202_103126.jpg

you need the automatic cable - the 4 speed is a little shorter
