I'll add that you probably shouldn't disassemble the odometer number wheels from the axle they ride on UNLESS you have the last one slipping, which results in the odometer not adding up the miles. But if you do, you can reset the mileage to read all zeroes - something which only the original factory guys, and those who keep their coupes over the mechanical limits, ever saw/see. However, know that state laws vary in this respect. Some may say only that to do so in furtherance of a fraudulent activity is prohibited, some may prohibit such reset in all cases. I reset a 2002 odometer once, but informed the buyer, who was okay with it.
