Spokane Festival of Speed June 6-8, 2025 (This weekend)

@BMW Pete...THOR says, "hi!" Cool dude...a lot of the racers and car corral attendees were from Seattle, some from Canada. He mentioned your role in his Factory Schnitzer 2800/CSL look race car. Cool car for sure. If I heard the story right it was one of the original Schnitzer built race cars that started with events in Europe?

We were allowed 3 laps on the track during lunch and I was the only BMW that participated in that as it was more of a Porsche Club sponsored event. Last year the CCA was there as well but the track has gone through ownership changes and other stuff last couple years so they are still figuring it out.

Another newly built BMW Z4 track car built by a friend of ours came later to the corral but missed the parade laps. I think I did the marque proud. Let's just say the coupe got a lot of attention and did great on the track (without getting into it any further). I wish the "parade laps" were a little more spirited. I guess a few years back the pace car ripped it up for everyone, this year it was more "tame" is nice way to put it, but still had its moments. Always fun getting out on a track for $20 including car corral parking, so, can't complain too much.

Some of you may recognize the Ferrari from Seattle area. 1949 Ferrari 166MM Barchetta. It was really nice. Not something you see every day, let alone in Spokane.

And then my friend's Lola. Had been sitting for 10 years, has held many track records, still holds one but forget what track (for it's class of course). He spent last couple weeks prepping it and got it out. That V8 with the trumpets and headers sounded very "mean!"

Always a fun little event. I did it a few years running before Covid, with Black M1, Rallye CSL and my Red Z1 (when I owned it) such nice people, especially all the Barlow family.

Please tell Thor Hi back, great guy and great car

Have fun

Looks like it was a fun event! Thanks for posting it - might have to check it out in future years. That track is pretty cool as well. Did a couple of Lucky Dog races there about a decade ago. Does the front straight still double as the drag strip? I know they have reconfigured it recently.

Yes, it is a long straight, pretty fun. Speaking with my buddy that has been on a lot of tracks he said it is a fun track and longer than you think, mainly because of that long drag strip. I'll try and get the dates out there earlier next year. It kind of snuck up on everyone this year as in years past, like last year for example, it was Aug. 30th-Sept.1st.

We have our fun downtown event this weekend Friday the 13th Car D' Lane. Bunch of muscle cars mostly and trucks driving around downtown, the police let a lot slide here regarding cars during that weekend. Then Sat. is the show-n-shine or whatever they call it. I will post on events as it is just a fun weekend here in general and weather is going to be nice 75 and 77 degrees Sat., so should be perfect. Today may hit all time high for this time of year, 94 degrees, pool time!
