Currently I have 225/60/14 tires on all wheels. I am thinking that 205/70/14 on e front would be better. Any thoughts?

I know the tire height is the middle number and I was going to make that change as well but going with 215/75/14 in the rear and 205/70/14 on the front to try and balance the rake out.I currently running 195/70/14 on all wheels and would think that 205 would be a better fit. Tim

The middle number is the side wall aspect ratio not the height, it's the percent of the tire width which is the first number. The diameter of the tire is dictated by the product of the 2 numbers plus rim size, a 215/65 tire is taller than a 215/60 tire on a 14" rim. I think you'd notice that 205/70's would look strange when compared to 225/60's on the back because they are almost 3/4" more diameter and would raise the front up. 215/60's would be about 1/2" shorter which would improve the rake if so desired. As far as any handling issues from mixed diameters front/back, I don't know.

Who makes the 215/75 size? If you were to put this size on your speedo would read 8% too slow and you'd have 1.4" difference in front/back diameters and may look strange and/or be unsafe.

Your current size also has the least amount of speedo error and are nicely aggressive looking, do they rub in front?

Hmmmm. Maybe I'll just stay with the same tires all around and the stock 195/70/14 in the spare tire well.

Thanks Steve
I thought that size in middle was the height because 50's have so low side walls so thanks for the info.
