Stahl header vs. stainless down pipes

Granted the stainless won't rust but is there a real advantage,performance/mileage, of the Stahl's over the stainless?

Headers look bada$$ But really, I have IE ceramic coated headers and CK stainless exhaust from there to the tailpipe; it's mated to a hi po engine, so I can't tell you if there is any difference in performance. I've read headers can bump output a little; however, is it really worth the coin is probably debateable on a stock engined, street car. It is nice engine porn though.

Paul,

first question is, can you get a set of Stahl headers. presumably you will only be able to find used ... which would be cheaper. Perhaps Korman still has some, but they will be ungodly expensive. the question is what kind of engine do you have, or do you anticipate having? headers will give you a mild bump if you have the right size mated to your engine design. standard to mild engine is 1 3/8" downpipes. strong engine is 1 1/2" ... and race is 1 5/8" ... according to Jere Stahl.

It's all about moving air.

If you put more in with Webers or FI and then add a cam to build the ability to bring in more air and then you raise the compression to make a bigger bang... well that has to get out and the more efficiently is does that the more HP you make.

That said I own an E28 M5 and in it stock configuration adding the euro headers is only good for about 10HP. They cost about $2000 now if you can find them.

But the bling is very nice!
