Hey Guys,
I am starting my slow build on my 54K mile schwartz coupe. It is a 72 vin #2250050 which puts it as the 50th automatic made from what I understand. I am the second owner and thanks to Dave in N.C. helping me put it together. All in all the car is very dry, the passenger side door has some rot at the bottom, the squegy leaked on this side as it sat under a carport for years. The mice ravaged the wiring. This interior is great and will be wonderful after some good treatment with leatherique. I am planning on pulling both subframes blasting repainting with all new bushes brakes etc. Of course the engine and auto are coming out as well. Here is the big question???
Who says what about motor options.. I want power, performance and sound. I want something that is not run of the mill, ideally a 3.5 and 6 speed from a F355 Ferrari is great but a little out of budget haha, I am building this car for me and it will be driven and enjoyed.
I love the sound of multiple sidedrafts but I know there are some reliability issues, fuel injection is great for reliability but does not sound as good. A 6 speed would be great and I have not seen a 6 speed coupe but then I have the speedo issues. I have no problem with some good hidden body reinforcements but hidden is the keys as the natural astetics are near perfect. Chad Stett from Stett Performance will be building the motor tranny set up. There are 3 e9s in my family and mine is the highest mile coupe so I think mine should be the "meanest". Any advice would be great. I will post some pictures soon.
