What I've just learnt is that the clock in my car (3,0 CSI 1973) which does not run, needs some kind of a voltage boost to start running. I should by pass the battery temporarily by a power source and start increasing the voltage up to 15-16VDC and the clock should start. After it has started the power source can be disconnected and the clock should stay running. Excellent, I need to try that.
Now, the clock seems to be quartz clock from VDO. I happen to own also a Karmann Ghia from 1974 which clock does not run either. The clock is also quartz made by VDO. So, does anyone know if it is common to all VDO quartz clock of that era to need a kick start?
