steering arms

Question guys,


Can anyone tell me the following.

Can we fit a 2002 bottom steering arm on the coupe?
I'm thinking if it fits and is shorter than the coupes it will give quicker steering.

1 is the tapered hole for the lower ball joint the same on both cars?
2 is the 02 strut bottom mounting the same as the coupe?
i.e are the 3 x bottom holes size and spacing the same, the locating groove thing I could deal with

Hi Steve, the lower arm balljoint on the 2002 is in the centre of the 3 mounting holes, directly under the strut where on the e9 it sits behind the line of the strut so I don't think it will fit. Ian

Wouldn't shorter mean slower and also limit full extension?

Nope, The shorter the steering arm the quicker the steering, the only down side to this is the shorter the steering arm the heavier the steering gets.
