Steering column prism

Prism Production

Well, I picked up the prisms today

I was impressed with the work that went into making these and if it were not my cousin and nephew making them it would likely have cost double!

The acrylic stock was machined to the correct shape with the V notch.
Then, the bar was placed into a jig that my cousin fabricated just for this purpose so that each prism was cut to the exact size of the next.

Finally the prisms were polished.

The price is mostly labor. I am very pleased with the result. I hope you will be too!

What is the light connected too? Is it part of the dash light circuit?

I opened up my steering column and all of the parts for this are missing. I was trying to find it in the parts catalog and the wiring diagram and don't see it.

I think I want one.... it looks cool.

Check went out for five prisms today-
5 x 25 = 125

Can you send me my original prism also?

Thanks!

Don

Is it correct that Porsche 911 guys would kill for this wind deflector?

There are a lots of 911 at my local car meetings ;-)

Ha! After a more careful look it seems my prism is in place and working. They are recessed enough in the steering column unless lit they are really difficult to see.

Guess I wont be needing two!

Thanks.
