hey guys, i sent an email to our friend @Stevehose ... got a quick response back. he doesn't have sellers remorse at this time and is really enjoying the 67 firebird 400 convertible.
he finds it as such a difference to the coupe - handles horribly, rides like a truck, but takes off like a rocket and the top goes down. he does miss the interaction with all of the good people on e9coupe. i have tagged him so maybe he will come say hello every now and then.
 
Thanks for the update Scott! Please tell him to post some pictures of the new Firebird. I had 68 and 69 Camaro convertibles, I agree with the handling comments but that V8 with dual exhaust will sound amazing with the top down.
 
Hah @rsporsche thanks for the mention! I'm still around, just not as much as things are pretty hectic here. Here is the recent purchase, I'm enjoying getting back into the muscle car "vibe" - and parts sure are easier to come by! Yes, it's a '67 Firebird 400 with original engine and 4spd, I call it the rolling phallic symbol of 60's machismo with the hood bulges, hood tach bulge, deep-throaty exhaust and big Hurst shifter up proud. Had a ground up resto many years ago and the ram air package was added then. The Hurst is a blast. I just had the original am/fm radio repaired with bluetooth so that will go back in in place of the retro-sound unit in now. Yes it's arrest-me red, I had a cop get out of his car in traffic behind me and walk up to the car, thinking I was getting a ticket for a brake bulb or something, instead he handed me an upcoming "Cops, Cars & Coffee" flyer :p Thanks for checking in, still the best forum anywhere!

What a beaut! I've got a '74 Satellite ratty run around the lake kind of car as well as a '78 Trans Am bandit car in mid restoration status with my father. Great choice!
 
always loved the firebirds, especially the 67 + 68, liked the same generation camaro, but the firebird more. looks like a great start that i know you will find a way to improve and make it more yours!!! we will continue to check in with you to see what you do to it ... other than just enjoy the crap out of it.
 
Very nice ride, Steve!! The previous owners were definitely car guys to keep it in that original condition. How did you find it?
 
Awesome. Gotta admit, it certainly makes a bigger and different statement than an e9. DeLorean knew what he was doing in those days. Appears to be a well optioned example. Love the hood mounted tach. One big carburetor must be easier to tune than three side drafts.
